At Farm Street Jesuit Church. 19.15 Quiet prayer, 19.30 Eucharist. Please join our young adult (20s & 30s) liturgy. This will be a special Mass around the theme of Social Justice and our partners JRS (Jesuit Refugee Service). The celebrant is Fr Jim Conway SJ, who works in Jesuit Social Ministries and lives in the Stamford Hill Community. Hopefully, you'll have time to join us at the Audley after the Mass. Edinburgh: concert for Chile
A Cry Out for Chile - Fundraising Concert for communities and families recently affected by the earthquake and tsunamis in Chile. The night will be full of music and dance from Scotland and Chile, and will end with an offering of Chilean empanadas and wine. Artists involved so far are Phamie Gow, Niki King, Carlos Arredondo, Eddie McGuire, Jim Sutherland, Martin Aelred, Tom Coyopa, Stuart Mitchell, Stuart Eydmann, Norman Mackay ceilidh band, and many more to come... All donations will be sent to the Chilean Red Cross and Victor Jara Foundation who will distribute the proceeds to the people that need it most now. The Blessed Cyprian Tansi Catholic Society UK invites all parishioners to join them at Mass next Sunday to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the beatification of Blessed Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi and pray for his canonisation. There will be a retiring collection after every Sunday Mass of next week to support the Cistercian monastery of Mount Saint Bernard Abbey to build a Sanctuary with Altar for annual pilgrimage to the monastery in honour of Blessed Tansi. ROMERO DAY EVENTS
There will be a special Mass in Edinburgh Cathedral at 7.30pm presided over by Cardinal Keith O’Brien. On that day in London, Archbishop Vincent Nichols will celebrate and preach at a Romero Mass in Westminster Cathedral at 5.30pm. A special Mass will also take place in St George's Cathedral Southwark at 12.30pm lunchtime. There will be a Mass at 7pm in St Chad’s Cathedral in Birmingham, which will be celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop William Kenney, standing in for Archbishop Bernard Longley who will himself, under CAFOD’s auspices, be marking the anniversary in Romero’s own Cathedral in San Salvador along with Bishop Arthur Roche of Leeds.
